    Football reseating?

When are we schedule to re seat again? Last year we upped our donation to $500(from 250) to keep our seats in our section. But last year we had about 10 or so empty seats in our very close proximity. Then this year we do the same and we are surrounded by people that bought $99 3 pack tickets.

Pollard needs to adjust this somehow or there is no way we are gonna keep giving what we do. We can go back down to $250 and probably see no change at all, we get $99 corner tix for basketball cause they are better than our donation level seats. So we'll be sending a letter to Jamie here soon. I dont mind giving my money to ISU, I LOVE it actually, but give me an incentive to do it.

    Re: Football reseating?

I'm not going to renew my season tickets next year. I'll just buy the mini-packs they've been offering as those who buy the mini-packs are getting FAR better seats than I am with my season tickets.

If I understand correctly, the mini-packs this year covered all games available, even the Iowa game.

I agree 100%, and btw, you have better seats than I do.

You get to go to every game instead of three/four, and you get the same seats for those games instead of being spread around each time. You also get the first chance to buy extra tickets to the Iowa game and any road game, in addition to bowl games and special games like KSU in Arrowhead. If that's not enough incentive, send the letter.

    Re: Football reseating?

If there are so many empty seats around me then we need to re seat and get all the donors closer. Who cares what they donate, cause ISU's donor point system is a farce.
Put all donors that get tix close as possible before the deadline, everyone after that, regardless of donation gets put behind them and so forth.

    Re: Football reseating?

The way the seating donations has been handled is so bad it's comical. Alum2002 has the right idea -- if you're a donor giving less than $10k, there is no incentive to buy season tickets. You're giving a donation for "preferred seating", and visiting fans who come in, donate nothing, and buy tickets for 1 game get better seats than you do.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

I could buy hillside and donate $100 if I wanted to do all that. I got crappy seats for the KSU game in KC with my donation level as well. It would even save me about $800 too.

While this has been beaten to death, I agree 100%.

There should be NO specific donor sections. The stadium should be reseated every year based on donation levels whether you donate $1 or $1 MILLION. This is the model of almost every college football team.

They could even set a minimum donation of $100 or something.

I agree with this. Every year it seems like I see a lot of empty seats in the lower level of the east side between the 40's, the big buck donation areas. We should never see big pockets of empty seats, especially not in those areas.

With ISU's current financial situation, they cannot afford to **** off any NCC members.

    Re: Football reseating?

The only problem with reseating every year is all the work that goes into it. We'd seriously need hire more people to work in the ticket office. Can you imagine all the work it'd be to find people who have preferences as to who they sit by, their section, etc. and re-do that every year?

My apologies, but you are not correct in several areas.

You leave out that all major teams have required donations to keep seats, or seat license requirements. Most still keep seats from year to year, but agree to reseat every 3-4 years.

Fact is we have one major problem for reseating and until it is changed, we cannot do a full reseating. There are about 3.500 seats in the middle that are off limits to reseat. They are original donors., This takes out most prime seating real estate between the 40s.

So, if you cannot allocate these it, then we end up re-indexing and have hit and miss with holes.

However, seating the minpaks in donor areas could end up costing us long term revenue over short term gains.

And please no lectures from non-donors on being glad we can donate. I dont give much, but I give double what is needed for my seating area and it does get frustrating.

It'd actually be relatively easy to design a program for this specific purpose.

In order to reseat every year, there would be no "I want to sit by so-and-so" allowed.

Selection times assigned in donor point order. If you miss your scheduled window, you may not get the seats you want. Kind of like registering for classes.
