Most Improved Big 12 BB Team

Comparing last years Big 12 teams to this year's teams, KSU has demonstrated the most improvement. They have been transformed went from one of the lower tier teams to the fourth place team in the conference. And next year they could make more progress with their banner recruiting season.

KSU is definitely the top of the list for me....then A&M because they're now a top 10 team

KSU is definitely the most improved team from the beginning of the season until now. I think A&M definitely is the most improved from last year until now. They didn't impress me at all in Hilton last season. We should have beat them. They improved quite a bit at the end of last season.

They are mentally tougher than the other teams.

Color me as a guy not overly impressed with KSU. Sure, they're improved - yet who have they defeated?

USC and Texas are their only good wins? They got thumped by Kansas and get a rematch at home tomorrow night.

We'll see how improved they are against teams that are not struggling to get wins.

Re: Most Improved Big 12 BB Team

I wasn't implying that KSU is one of the best teams in the conference. My point is that they have came a long way (fourth place in the Big 12) from where they were last season.

It will be interesting to see if the improvement continues next season with the highly recruited high school players that will be joining the Wildcats.

Kansas State by a country mile. K-State improved at the most important position on a b-ball team....HEAD COACH!!!

If HuggyBear stays, look for K-State to dominate a lot of the big 12 conference.

If you don't have a head coach you cannot win and if your point guard is bad...well good luck, cause your looking at last place.

Is anybody else just a little suspicious of Huggins? How did he recruit that well before even completing one season at K-State? Especially with his troubles at Cincinatti?

There was an article posted some time back talking about recruiting. Since Huggins didn't have a school last year, there were no restrictions on recruiting. So he made a lot of house calls and went to guys schools and convinced them that way and there is nothing the ncaa can do about it.

Re: Most Improved Big 12 BB Team

Huggins is playing with Jim Woolridge's players for the most part. There aren't many freshman making a big impact for them right now. Walker, the highly touted freshman, has been hurt all year. Woolridge definitely left Huggins some talent. McDermott was not given that luxury as all of Wayne's guys left. Give McDermott three years and we will be above K-State.

Re: Most Improved Big 12 BB Team

If Woolridge left Huggins some talent its nothing compared to what they have joining the team next year. Nothing against McDermott but Huggins is lining up some of the best recruiting classes in the country so its hard to say three years from now which team will be better.

Huggins is a good coach, but there is alot of baggage that comes with those wins.
I would not want to build a program like that.

Re: Most Improved Big 12 BB Team

K-State was actually playing pretty well late last season. They nearly made the NCAA Tournament, I believe. I think Missouri is much improved over last year...they are certainly coming on right now. I also think Texas Tech has overachieved the entire year. For them to sweep Texas A&M is pretty impressive.

Re: Most Improved Big 12 BB Team

K-State is way better than they were last year. They're going to finish 4th in the league with the same team Wooly had.

I don't think there's any way to legitimately argue that K-State isn't going to become one of the major players in the conference as long as Huggy is there.

Re: Most Improved Big 12 BB Team

KSU was the preseason #5 in the Big 12 by the coaches and returned 4-starters/8-lettermen. Add the fact they lost many of last year's conference games by four points or less.

My vote goes to aTm. For those so enamored with KSU's dramatic one spot rise, aTm also is one place ahead of their predicted finish and was the first south team to win at Allen Field House. I think it's harder to go from #2 to #1 (considering KU) than it is to go from #5 to #4.

BTW, I don't like KSU or Huggins. If you do you just don't know them well enough.
