    Player of the game....and others

IMO the defensive player of the game is David Sims....Wow he was all over the place....thats how a safety is supposed to play....I was extremely impressed with his ability to cover the field and his kick off returns skills were a welcomed sight as well....

The offensive player of the game is a no brainer.....Marquis Hamilton played a great game...it was great to see him fired up and able to make big plays....i wish he had caught that Reynolds throw because the outcome may have been settled a bit earlier....

I seriously think that Arnaud still looks for #5 just like he did last year....

Money got a lot of looks an played very well for his first game. I see him growing and contributing in different ways, and my guess is he ends up with 3 touchdowns passes!!!!

Josh Lenz - Thank God!!!! Finally a punt returner with a lil something to him and he doesnt fumble!!!! Great night out of him....he's going to be a good one!!!!!

Side note - it was great to see a properly timed blitz in the second half by terran Benton and way to finish it not letting the qb slither away and make a play...that was a welcomed sight to see a blitz that wasnt a delay and the qb has forever to get the pass off.....

    Holy Mahoney....what a great kick.....

Johnson/Banks - i think this tandem is going to be rock solid by seasons end....

Good points. I would say that Mahoney was awesome, considering ISU's recent history, it was nice to see him boot it.

So, the goal in recruiting this year is another dozen or so Sims' caliber defenders?

Part of this fanbase is like the parable of the blind men and the elephant.

    Who knew?

If we could 'Clone' a few Sims, I'd take them.

Sims is a no brainer for player of the game. Nice returns.... a pick and seemed to be everywhere on defense. Im very happy he found his way to Ames.

Specifically ones that are twice as big as him and can stuff the run.

The Kool-Aid is flowing freely here so I believe you're right. KB just needs to don his castiron shorts to get through the upcoming film review and practices first.

    Sims Sims Sims.

I love the way our defensive backfield hits. K. Banks, LJ, Sims and James Smith.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

Did you see how hard him and O'Connel(sp) hit on that? Sims looked like a champ and just leveled his *** like he was the bad guy!

Re: Player of the game....and others

Agree with Sims and Hamilton. Good games out of them

I was very disappointed in LJ and Banks play. Besides LJ batting away that out route he didn't seem very agressive at all. Same goes for Banks.

Arnaud needs to be able to throw a slant. I know people may not like me saying this but I thought AA was really bad last night. Even his little screen passes where high or low. He has to throw the ball towards there chest and let the guys run after the catch

Front 7 on defense got eaten alive

While glad that Sims made that play if you take a look at the replay O'Connel had a running start at that ball and probably would have taken it to the house if Sims wasn't there.

AA threw behind a bunch of guys last night. I'm hoping that is just 1st game jitters...
