    Future lineman for ISU?

My little dude's playing center/noseguard in his first year of tackle football. Just had to brag on him a little bit.

Yes sir! His line coach said he was going to be "an absolute menace" at noseguard due to his size and speed (relative to his age of course 5'0", 120lbs).

How old is he? My wifes little bro is 13 and is 5'4" 100. He is scrawny though.

Awesome! I wish I had tackle football at his age.

I hope my kids get into sports. My youngest is a brute at 3, but hasnt been in sports yet. My oldest at 5 has done soccer, tball, and basketball. Seems to like tball more, which sucks because there is no future in ISU baseball. =( Heres to hoping your son breaks things in Jack Trice.

He's 11. He's such a mild mannered kid that he doesn't realize how big he is.

My son did one year of Tae kwon do, one year of little league baseball, one year of basketball, one year of flag football and now this. He seems to like football the best. Our only requirement going in is that he finishes the full season.

Cool Re: Future lineman for ISU?

Sweet! Isn't it fun watching your kids in sports, especially your son in football!! My son is a 4th grader at Ankeny and is playing tackle football this year. Ankeny starts 'em young! He is a speedy little thing so he's playing RB and QB primarily but I imagine as he grows up he'll be WR and DB.

Watching him play football is simply AWESOME. So much fun!

This is a good policy. Learning to finish something you start is a great asset to have.

It is awesome. I've been really impressed with all the coaches who volunteer to help these kids learn the games. It takes a lot of time out of their days and weeks, and they do such a great job. I've been a "volunteer" volunteer coach for most of his teams, mainly helping with the little things, like holding a pad on our mock parent/coaches defense, and getting blocked by 5th and 6th graders. Some of those little guys hit hard.

    Re: Future lineman for ISU?

DM starts soooo late with tackle football and you can tell on the field. My kid likes it a lot and has good size. 6'4" but only 170 as a 10th grader. Hope he turns into a beast.
