    One man's prayer

    Heavenly Father,

Please provide safe passage for Steve Deace on his return from vacation, and save us from the trials of Jon Miller solo. In ******'s name, Amen.

I think Jon does just fine solo. It's better with Deace, but I still listen when it's just Jon too. I love that he's all about college football.

LOL. That is a lot less bitter than my thoughts on the way in this morning. Good for you!

In all fairness, I only get to listen during the opening monologue. This week he has rambled more than a little during this time. It's not a Hawk/Clone complaint. But it seems he's really meandering without Deace. Also, if you read this Jon, please curtail your singing on the show. It's really not a thing of beauty.

OK OK OK! I take a lot of my previous post back. I just sat thru 15 minutes of his stupid hawk propaganda. You know what that says to me?

If he's pumping up the 2010 team, he must not think much of the 2009 team.

Not really. Just pointing out that its the middle of another great three year run :)

Pretty much everything I said in that segment, Deace and I are in agreement on:

This year's team to win at least 9 games, and that if they had the reverse schedule on the road this year, Deace would have picked them in his final Top Ten. He had them 10-2 and going to a BCS game before the Hampton injury.

And next year's team will between 15-17 starters, plus both specialists, plus all of those games at home.

So while i can understand some not liking 'how' the message was delivered', it's not that I was out in the desert eating locusts by myself here, because I think Steve pretty much agrees with the content of the message...just not the delivery :)

I understand and have no problems with your thinking (maybe a little homer-ish, but that is OK). However, the questions that I have for you:

    - When will we get the chance to hear that type of anaylsis on ISU's squad (starters, backups, improvement, what the coaches are saying, strengths/weaknesses). I only listen to your show for the first 40 minutes or so, so maybe I missed it.

-When ISU was covered on Fox Sports Net, did you include that date/time announcement in your sports reports (WHO & KXNO)?

-When will you bring on the people that covered the Big XII pre-season like you did yeseterday with the BTN? You could argue that there isn't as much coverage with ISU as UofI, but that is in part because you are too busy pimping the BTN and not offering the same level of requests/coverage for ISU. If the national media is requested to talk about ISU, they might do a little more homework on it.

It's going to be hard to take the high road and not rub it in your face when Iowa doesn't do as well as you expect.

I know you're responding to mjones, but my point and prayer were in regards to your rambling on topics. Greasers and Soc's? 167 pt bucks with your future father in law? If Valley doesn't split, you'll move? All started by Bass Pro's? That was my point. And seriously, no more singing. Please.

Thanks for the input. I am comfortable with how things have been this week, but always appreciate the feedback.

As long as Mr. Miller isn't counting the ISU game as one of their 9 wins then he shouldn't catch too much flack when they fall on their face this year.
