    Question for Vikings fans

Once the regular season games start...........if Brett Favre struggles, will Childress have the cojones to replace him in a game? I'm not talking about him getting hurt and having to come out. I'm just asking if he is ineffective, not completing passes, throws a couple of interceptions, whatever, will Childress pull him in favor of Sage or another backup?

"If"? Why make assumptions? Why don't we wait and see until we get there--is there a reason that we have to assume a worst case scenario?

Barring an injury Favre is the starter for the entire season.

Heck no, Childress will let the drama queen take him out of head coaching altogether, which might not be a bad deal in the end.

I've heard that Brett doesn't come out unless Brett says so. If Childress was smart he'd be playing Sage at least half the time early in the season. IMO no way that "Greybeard- the Nordic Gunslinger" can last an entire season.

Shouldn't this be a question for Vikings coaches? How the heck do we know what the coaches will do?

This is what they should do, Favre's numbers fall off the face of the earth for about the last 4 games or so in recent years. The first four weeks don't matter as much as the last 4 weeks.

Good point. Favre was runner up for NFL MVP the season before last, wasn't he?

Simple answer is no. He won't have the Cojones. He will go down with the ship.

I was thinking more about the QB rating and interceptions. Will you be happy this season if the starting Viking QB ends up with a QB rating of 81, 22 INTs, and missing the playoffs?

    Re: Question for Vikings fans

Jebus guys...the JETS were 4-12 the season before Brett showed up. They went 8-3 in their first 11 games last year. They were the 9th best offense in 2008 after being the 25th best the season before. The man was old last season, played with far less talent on his offense, had to endure the elements and a media circus that is New York. This year he is in a climate controlled environment for his home games, is playing in familiar surroundings in the NFC north, and hasn't missed a start since fire was invented. This guy does throw pics, but he has more successes than failures as a passer. Sure, he threw as many pics as TDs last year. But how many pics lead to points? I'm sure each of his TDs lead to 6 points directly.

So many nay-sayers out there. Let the season unfold and see how things go. If AP tears up his knee in game 1, will everyone hold Farve responsible if the season is not a success? Brett is one man. And considering the alternatives for the Vikes he seems like the best choice available. If the defense doesn't stop other teams, is Brett responsible for that (the Jets did have the 18th rated defense last season).

End of rant. Rack me! Late.

    It's not if, it's when.
