    Can Arnaud carry us?

Seems to me the key to this season will be the play of AA at quarterback. Can he make the reads, not throw interceptions and lead the team. I'm certainly hoping he can do the job. Any thoughts?

    Re: Can Arnaud carry us?

I think the key is going to be the play of our Dline and secondary more than AA.

I think he can lead the offense fairly well, but we need a leader on the other side of the ball more.

Didn't you read the Arnaud vs. Griffin thread? Arnaud would have won the Heisman already if he was on Florida, Texas, or OU!!!

I did not see the Arnaud vs. Griffin thread. I wonder who started it?

    Re: Can Arnaud carry us?

I think he's a solid QB and will have a breakout season. I don't think he's going to be nationally known and famous like some but he will be in the top half of the conference for most stats and could easily be our best QB in several years.

I think if AA can make smart decisions and no throw as many Ints he can be the center piece of the offense

With Hermans offense, AA is the key guy. He has the talent if he can make the reads. You gotta love his attitude.

I must have missed that part. What are your thoughts on Chris Weinke and Jason White?

This. oh yeah, AA will carry this O and I think he'll thrive in it. I am more concerned with someone stepping up on the D line and not make our DB's cover guys for 10 seconds every play. Gotta get pressure, gotta get sacks, hurries, FF. Really need much more to disrupt other teams O and rhythm this year.

    Re: Can Arnaud carry us?

We've seen glimpses of greatness in his play. He is now a junior QB with plenty of Big 12 experience. He has had a couple of years to work out a few kinks and jitters. He has shown the ability to be a natural leader. He is a well spoken and smart guy.

If he can grasp our new playbook, I agree with others in saying that he could really explode. Especially in the 2nd half of the season (still learning the system).

    Re: Can Arnaud carry us?

AA carried us last year. Imagine it without him. If our D could have made about 6 or 7 more stops throughout the year, we'd have been blown away by what the team could have accomplished.

Gino Toretta, Danny Wuerffel and Troy Smith. Plus some close second and third place finishers like Brad Banks, Brady Quinn, Rex Grossman and Ken Dorsey and I would take AA over most or all of them. Yes I am the one who thinks that AA would be an Heisman Candidate on certain other teams.

No one player can carry a football team.
