    Lou Holtz is Insane

He just picked Notre Dame to play Florida in the BCS title game.

I was flipping through the channels and heard that right when I landed on ESPN. I kept flipping after that.

    Re: Lou Holtz is Insane

Lou Holtz, and pretty much everybody on ESPN, know pretty much nothing about the majority of teams in the NCAA.

They are idiots, and that's why I don't watch or pay any heed to ESPN football "analysts".

Mark May is just as bad. Trev Alberts was way way worse than either of them, though.

The only one I sort of like is Lee Corso. Not because he ever has anything interesting to say, but because he's bordering on insane.

I'd like to see a Civil War re-enactment with Lee Corso and Lou Holtz as generals commanding troops. That would make for an amusing Sunday afternoon diversion.

Lou Holtz is the definition of "homer", is all that it is.

    It's TV.

    Ratings = money

People talking about what so-and-so said = Ratings

Lou Holtz' goal is not to predict anything accurately. His goal is to get people to watch him and talk about what he says to get free publicity. And this thread shows he succeeded.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

I couldn't disagree with you more. Holzt isn't smart enough to come up with a scheme like that. I believe that he honestly thinks Notre Dame will be in the BCS title game.

This may be true, but it is also true Lou is a massive ND homer.

They need to just say good bye to Holtz. I think the only reason he's still there is because he says stuff like this and causes people to talk about how dumb it is.
