That might explain why they've faltered recently: Ricketts has taken the Cubs.

Thank you. I'll be here 'til Sunday. Try the veal.

Anyone think the Cubs will make some moves this week now that the deal is done?

A radio play-by-play guy for a certain rival school of Iowa State always said something that fits this situation very well... "I love it, I love it, I love it."

I find that smack somewhat odd coming from a twins fan being they are 5 games under 0.500.

The possibilities are relatively limited at this point.

It was a bit sarcastic - my wife is slowly converting me to a cubs fan. I'm just making sure I have the lingo down. But in all seriousness, I really think that Wagner would be a good signing - they need him desperately. As for the Twins, I would rather see Mauer with a new contract than the twins making the post season this year.

I wonder if whoever claimed Wagner on waivers is blocking someone else . . .

Why would an overpaid .500 team make any moves this late in the season??

Re: Tribune Co. Agrees To Sell Cubs, Wrigley Field

No, they probably won't make any moves this week. However, this should free them up to spend a little more money in the offseason.

    My early offseason wishlist:

    2b: Figgins or Hudson

    SP: Harden or Lackey

    RP: Wagner

Yep, and I think that means that the Cubs passed on him (and every other team in the national league).
