    What is Colorado thinking??

They play Sunday night Sept 6 against arch rival Colordao St then turn around 5 nights later and play on the road Friday Sept 11 against Toledo. Selling out to get on TV.

How is that different than playing on a Saturday and then the following Thursday? Also, the NFL has teams with only a 4 day layoff the week of Thanksgiving.

Most teams that play on Thursday had the preceeding Saturday off.

Irony: calling another school stupid for doing something we would have done in a heartbeat if we were offered the same terms.

if they win both, it looks like a great move. Too early to tell.

Just the same, the money and exposure would be worth it in my opinion for Iowa State to do the same thing if given the opportunity.

If they win, it was a good move. If this ends badly for them....who cares? Eat it CU.

I suggest you actually look up what irony means.

    Re: What is Colorado thinking??

They were probably thinking, A. Toledo won three games last year, B. It's a good paycheck, and C. They have extra time to prepare for Wyoming (which won four).

    Then two weeks for WVU.

    Just my guess...

Edit: Looking at their schedule, they only have five days to prepare for OSU after playing us. Now that, maybe, I'd question--unless they're mailing it in as a loss.

    Re: What is Colorado thinking??

I would guess that ISU would rearrange their schedule right now if it meant that they could get two more games on TV. At some point schools like ISU need to start chasing dollars to make everything work.

Which will bring them a lot of $$$, they would be stupid to not do it!

In actuality, the game against Toledo was scheduled first as a game against Miami of Ohio that Miami got out of and Toledo picked up the game. The CSU game was scheduled for Saturday the 5th until about 2 months ago when TV came calling to put the game on. The Sunday night CU-CSU game a great idea as there isn't any other football on TV that night. Just think if ISU could play Iowa on that Sunday night on TV? That would get crazy.

    Re: What is Colorado thinking??

Part of the deal here is that, yes, Colorado St. is the arch rival, but CSU has been way down the last few years. Not competitive in the Mountain West, which has really been strong lately with Utah, BYU and TCU. So, a little lack of respect creeping in there, plus a lack of respect for the MAC. People out west generally don't think much of the MAC, take it from me. It's generally considered something like the WAC, which, outside of Boise, is awful.

"Out of the top five players in the state we got two. One went to Iowa and the other two couldn't get into school, which is about the same thing." ....... Johnny Orr
