    Iowa Bed and Breakfast?

Anyone got a recommendation for a BnB that might appeal to the under 50 crowd?

I'd love to find one with a hot tub (and not the whirlpool tub in room) that I can just chill in after a nice dinner. I know, probably barking up the wrong tree doing a BnB but it was the wife's request for anniversary.

I thought there was one up in Dubuque that offered some day excursions on the river?

Heck....if you got an idea or stayed in one you liked put it out there.

I haven't been there in ages, but we used to do family vacations at the Apple Orchard Inn in Missouri Valley, IA. I quite honestly don't know what it's like now, but the people who own(ed) it were very friendly and made wonderful breakfast.

If you live in Urbandale you can just drive over to 72nd Street and stay at the Wells Bed and Breakfast. Since I live 2 blocks away I will even come over and drink a few beers with you

I did some flooring several years ago in a newly built place in Pella. Had really nice rooms and some with whirlpools, and the owners were really nice people. Can't remember the name of it to save my life.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

There's one in Hornick, Iowa, where they filmed scenes of "Children of the Corn". We spent our wedding night there. How many people can say that?

The Brass Lantern is where we honeymooned. They serve a huge breakfast. Have a heated pool...I forget what the bathrooms where like. It is kinda like a guesthouse/pool house.

What seems like a 100 years ago we went to Galena, IL for our honeymoon. You can't swing a cat without hitting a B&B. Very relaxing. Cute little downtown for strolling, shopping, whatever. Ate at Fried Green Tomatoes right outside of town. OUTSTANDING!

We've been back, but not for a couple of years. But really, you can't go wrong.

I stayed there after the film came out.

It was a creepy old rundown Victorian house that the owners then renovated after the film.
