    Dinehart "sounds" off on Chizik

    Did you see this:

"Biggest disappointment: Iowa State. Welcome to Cyclones football, Gene Chizik. Feel free to cry, if you want. You aren't in Austin, Texas, anymore. Sure, I never expect the Cyclones to sign a Top 25 classes, but I figured they would do better than this. Maybe I should reserve judgment until next year, when Mean Gene will have had a full season to recruit players. Maybe not. "

    My reply:

    Iowa State

"Why all the hate on Gene Chizik, Tom? Just because you missed it by saying Kelly for weeks and Jamie Pollard the ISU AD got the top Defense guy in the country as a new head coach you rip on him? The man had little time to put a class together and went JC ranks for the right reason. Sour grapes?? Sure looks like it in print.........lets face it Chizik is said by everyone allowed to print anything one of the best coaching finds of 2006, except by you. Keep ripping, I'll get back to you.... "

Note: was traveling all last week and missed signing day etc., if this is old news............don't read it

Wow...first I've seen of this. Someone please take Dinehart's keyboard away from him - as he's clearly letting his bias take over.

No...don't take it away from him.

Instead, slap him in the face with it. Put the video on YouTube.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Re: Dinehart "sounds" off on Chizik

What I don't understand is, why is this a dissappointment? If Iowa State sucks so badly, and if Gene Chizik sucks so badly, why would this brilliant blogger expect Iowa State to do any better? If anything, I would think with such a bad program, and a horrible coaching selection, the fact that our class has anyone that rivals even heard of should be a big surprise.

    What a choad.

Is it possible that poor little Tom was previously ripped apart by Cyclone Gene, and now he's crying like a baby?

Tom you should know that no matter how much you rip on Gene, it still won't make you a better person, but you can keep trying.

Re: Dinehart "sounds" off on Chizik

    Two words

"Who cares"? As in who cares what this joker has to say.

Frankly I kinda like this stuff. We all know what Dinehart is. A pathetic "writer" who thought he had a scoop on the ISU job, was wrong and is holding a grudge.

So let him keep writing this crap, and give him all the rope he wants.

Then when "Mean Gene" gets things going as we all hope he will, Tommy-Boy will have an entire body of work to hang himself with.

Everybody knows this type of guy - and they're usually wearing black and gold. No amount of reasoning or explanation works with them. It's no different than that Iowa fan in your office who runs his mouth all summer long. The only thing that shuts them up in the end is a big fat "L" on the scoreboard.

Re: Dinehart "sounds" off on Chizik

I agree with him...Chizik was a terrible hire. Why would you want to hire a coach who isn't used to losing? I mean come on, we are Iowa State. We can't expect anything. I was really hoping we would hire Cotton as HC just to ensure 10 losses per season.

Dienhart, would your Golden Boy Brian Kelly have had a better recruiting class than Chizik? I dare you to answer that.

Re: Dinehart "sounds" off on Chizik

Ok, now that I've taken a serious look at this.

Brian Kelly is now coaching Cincinnati....where did Dienhart rank their class in the Big East? You guessed it...dead last.

He also ranks West Virginia #1 in the Big East and yet they are the "Biggest Disappointment". Yeah...that makes sense Tommy.

Re: Dinehart "sounds" off on Chizik

Guys, you need to remember that Dienhart is one of the people who came on the radio and told us it'd be a grave mistake to get rid of McCarney, and that there was no way we'd get anyone better for the job. Dienhart is buddy buddy with Mac and I think he's still ****** about Mac "resigning."

Dienhart will find every possible reason to bash Chizik, Pollard, and the rest of the program until they start winning consistently. Then, we can shove all this right back you know where......

Well, yes. That is the second best option, for certain.
