    Ceaser is doing great.

Chris Ceaser is playing great basketball, I am wondering why he has never played a bigger role before. Does anyone know what happened that he is all of a sudden a great role player for us?

Apparently McDermott likes kids who give him extra effort. He rewards them with play time.

It's amazing what types of things G-Mac can do in order to extract the best qualities from players - even unknown, unproven, inexperienced guys like Ceaser.

I never thought I'd say this - but I wish we had him around next season. He wouldn't be seeing a ton of minutes, yet he'd be a good player to rotate in now and then.

His defense doesn't suck either. :-)

because morgan was built off of offense not defense

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

I was surprised at how good he did against Durant!

I second that! Durant had like 8 inches on the guys too!

For three years I've wondered what deficiencies CC had that kept him from seeing the floor. Not to knock the other walk-ons, but when they'd get in for mop-up duty he looked like a greyhound running amongst labradors!

I'm glad to see his four years of work as a walk-on player is resulting in some court-time for him!

He did a good job against Durant. It was funny also because when he came into the game, the announcers called it the mismatch of the century.

I remember that comment from the game. I like McD giving him an opportunity. Some some players that's all it takes to break out with impressive stats. McD does best with what he has, I just wish he sat out Taylor during the Missouri game and had someone else try it out.

GREAT, quick analysis. It's soooooo true. Ya just wonder how this season would be if we had him out there getting good minutes all year. Also gotta wonder how the football season would have been if Ryan had been running the ball the whole year instead of just the last 2 games instead of Stevie Hicks doing his impression of running through 3 feet of snow.

I think this is really what's going on here. Chris isn't a scorer. We know this. But he's quick, and long, and doesn't get into big trouble very easily.

    Re: Ceaser is doing great.

Not to rain on the parade, but most of what I have seen Ceasar has been a bit lost on offense... Now I didn't see the Texas game since I was out of the viewing area but in the games I have seen, especially in person, it seems like he doesn't really know where he is supposed to be and what do do when he gets the ball... This could also be a product of not working with the starters much... I do think its great to get another athlete on the court, but somebody has to play devils advocate in the love fest ; )

    Re: Ceaser is doing great.

I was at the Texas game and spent most of my time watching whoever was guarding Durant. With all of the effort that RC, JG and CC spent on him and he still had 17 points! We did everything we could to deny him the ball, he had to work to get the ball and missed several shots. The refs gave him several free throws he should not have gotten, but he is still the best player in the league by far. Pure basketball ability!
