Most players won't get much notice or respect playing for a homeschool team as evidenced by these comments but my nephew plays a vast majority of his games in the summers with an AAU team consisting of top players from area high schools and this team plays all-star and high school teams all summer long. This summer, he played over 50 games with this team plus 21 games with an elite AAU team from Indianapolis that he was invited to play with. He also regularly attends showcases and camps that have top-flight competition. I understand that this is the way that other homeschoolers and small school students have received the exposure needed to obtain D1 opportunities. His coach who has D1 experience keeps saying that he has definite D1 potential if he keeps improving like he has been and has high expectations for him this year. Other local coaches have stated that he is one of the top five players in the greater Lafayette area.

So, is ISU in contact with him? Is that what you mean by "on the radar" or is this just for our benefit?

There was a kid from oklahoma that played in a homeschool league with friends of ours at one time. Somehow he was the number one NBA draft this year.

I think it is great, especially if he can be a contributor to the program. Thanks for the heads up.
