    This also worries me

A lot of things worry me about this team, and this is another one. I looked at schedules for Big 12 teams, and I think we are the only team in the conference that does not have a 'bye' week. Technically we have one, but it is at the end of the season, which does us little good because even optimistic fans doubt we're going to a bowl game. With the lack of experience on this team (especially on defense), we are going to really need an off week to rest, heal our injuries, and regroup. Instead, we have to play 12 games straight with no rest.

I agree. It's hard to believe that a bye can't be scheduled for every team.

    Re: This also worries me

KSU doesn't either. Moving the game to 10/3 eliminated the open week for both teams.

Baylor and A&M get their open week in Week 2 -- not exactly a huge benefit.

Tech is the only team with an open week during conference play, as a result of the UT/Tech game moving up to 9/19. UT filled that 11/7 slot with UCF.

Speak for yourself. I know a lot of fans that feel we have a shot at a bowl game.

Another reason why I do not like the KSU game in KC. There are several teams with an open date that week, right before Big 12 play begins and 1/3 of the way into the season- which is an advantage. KU enjoys this open date the week before the ISU game.

    Not that I'm complaining.

I think it is good and bad. If you need to week to heal some players, it could be good. But if the team is relatively healthy, I think the players would prefer to have a game every week and it can be good to not disrupt the rhythm of practices and games.

    Re: This also worries me

We still get a bye week, its just now around the 1st of Nov. Which i kinda like. That is typically the time of year when we play our worst football and usually have mostly away games. Having early bye weeks never really helped before, why not change it up and see what happens?

Nov. 1 is a Sunday. We play games the day before and the following Saturday.
