Detroit is currently at Boston (3 left, lost last night).

CWS is at Seattle and then Oakland I believe.

This team is all kinds of done, they've stretched the bullpen too far for too long.

Ah well, I'll be there saturday/sunday anyway sending off the dome once again

No question about it. The pitching since the All Star break has been absolutely terrible. Getting hammered by the Royals tonight, at home. What appeared to be a promising young pitching staff has quickly turned into nothing but a bunch of question marks.

I wouldn't say they're done right now. You gotta remember the surge they had in 06 to come back and take the division, and they did the same thing last year and took the white sox into a tie-breaker. I'm hoping tradition stands and that the twins will make things interesting.

Royals score 3 in the top of the 6th, it's now 12-1. I don't think even the Royals bullpen can blow this lead, or maybe they can.

Unless they find an entire new starting rotation, they are done. Not one of them is throwing worth a damn right now. I think 4 of the 5 have an ERA over 5, and the one that doesn't got knocked out in the second tonight against the Royals.

    Re: Twins Homestand

The starters are just awful this year. Slowey was in a groove, but he's out for the season. Blackburn had put together some solid stats but has been terrible as of late. Pavano's inagural Twins start was promising but 1 starter can't make a rotation.

It's a shame with the offensive talents that team has this year that the pitching can't perform a little better. If the starters perform, Twins would have run away with the division this season.

That being said, I'll be at the Cleveland series fri-sun sending off the dome... here's hoping to be back for a playoff game.

The one thing I can't understand right now is that nobody is holding pitching coach Rick Anderson accountable. The pitching staff is an absolute trainwreck. For the first time in decades, the Twins as a team are hitting for some power, and the pitching staff is horrible. 12 freaking runs and 15 hits to the Royals?? At home???

You can only do so much with what you're given...

and um, I believe CC Sabathia was on the hill the game the Yankees gave up 22 runs to the Indians?

That is a good point. Anderson may very well be held accountable at the end of the season. Although, he did pretty well with the staff last year. I saw some quotes from Gardenhire speculating that the young arms might just be exhausted. Seems odd. But something is definitely wrong.
