    TV help

Has anyone here that owned a DLP ever got the color wheel and fans replaced? If you have I would love to know who to use. I am in the Des Moines area.

Also if it can be a do it yourself type of thing, I need to know where parts can be purchased from. I am not having much luck right now and it gets worse every day....

I would have to think fixing it would have to be cheaper than a new TV.

Check out the forums like Home Theatre, Blue Ray, High Def, etc. I have posted questions on them before and received some great answers. Sometimes, the members try to "out tech-talk" each other but most of the time you will get your answer quickly.

Has your lamp gone out yet? I have until November until my warranty is up so now I tell the kids to keep running it night & day, something I thought I would never say!

How do you like your DLP? I love ours, the picture is fantastic! I don't know why they are being manufactured less & less.

Yeah, the lamp went some time ago, that is when I realized that running on high was a bad idea. turned it way down, now I just can't tell if it is the picture wheel or a fan that is bad, but from what I can read, if you are getting one replaced might as well do them all.

Picture is great. and the price was way less than plasma or LCD at the time. But they aren't making them because there are so many moving parts. Moving parts make noise and moving parts break, as I am finding out.

Isn't dust a big problem for them? That's what I've always heard.

There is really only one valid reason to hate Michigan football, and that is the fact that we taught Notre Dame the game.
