There is really only one valid reason to hate Michigan football, and that is the fact that we taught Notre Dame the game.

    Hard to argue with it.

Keep in mind, none of the ESPN types no the type of offense we're going to have this year.

But until we actually do something on the field, we'll continue to get what we deserve...which is mostly negative.

    We will break the cycle.

It seems kind of dubious that we were highlighted as the biggest "Not" in NCAA football. Sure we are in a BCS conference and only won 2 games, but Washington won ZERO in a weaker conference. I won't argue that we were anything but terrible last year, but we definitely were not the worst.

It's Schlabach what did anyone expect. The guy has the SEC nether regions so far down his throat I'm surprised he can even talk on TV.

    Re: No Respect!

Yes, it gets old seeing that just about anyone affiliated with ESPN seems incapable of doing the slightest bit of research on Iowa State and automatically assumes based on the last two years plus the fact we're breaking in a new coach automatically means there's a chance for an "0-fer" this year (considering how they continue to insist on the uncertainty of us being able to take care of business against NDSU), but as I've said previously, what exactly have we shown over the last several years to make ESPN take a serious second look at us? If Iowa State wants to be treated seriously nationally they're going to have to make everyone treat them seriously - and the only way to do that is by winning games.

Did anyone see ISU play last year. Repect is earned and last year teams toyed with us. 10 losses in a row. Getting beat by UNLV and Baylor. Longest road losing streak in the country. Longest conference road lossing streak in the country. Averaging 3 wins the last 3 seasons.

Outside of Nebraska, Oklahoma St, Missouri, and Baylor (), I'm not sure all that many teams actually "toyed" with us. We did have the opportunity to win 6 more games than we actually did last year. I'm not sure how you can imply we were mostly "toyed" with when we were in the majority of our games last year.

This. I am pretty sure that Kansas didn't intentionally spot us a 20-0 halftime lead just for fun. Nor did Colorado storm back to take the lead late in the 4th quarter just so they could let us march down the field and have a crack at winning the game on the final play from the 1 foot line.

As for the Pokes, Huskers, Bears, and Tigers I wouldn't say that what they did to us on the field should be considered toying with us. I would say it was more like total destruction mode.

That being said.... it was last year and has absolutely nothing to do with this year. Leave it to the fine folks at ESPN to be unable to understand that concept.

Yes and no, I mean...if you're comparing to Washington, they only broke 20 like twice, so I probably give the nod to them in the "who got toyed with most" debate.

Thing is, Washington didn't win a game...so I think Clone Fan has a legit beef with "professional" sports analysts dogging ISU over Washington when all things are considered.

Both have new coaches, new systems. Both came off bad years, but I think outside of Idaho and Washington State they'd be fortunate to win one game this year. Their Senior and Junior classes are weak in talent and they are starting at a harder schedule than ISU...so, there is a legitimate gripe there.

But but but Washington used to be a national power! They can't possibly have down years! That is unpossible!

    Re: No Respect!

While I doubt that the talking heads at ESPN have any real clue about ISU, its obvious they know even less about the Pac 10. Washington was awful but played without their best player all year so they get a little slack but Washington State was blown out on a routine basis. This is just another case of an idiot making judgements based on what he's seen on paper.
