    Guard play for the future

I use to think post play was our major concern, but after the past several games, I realized it is ball handling, and shooting. Are the 07-08 recruits good enough to come in and immediately help our program?? I do not know much about them. I see 1 PG, and 2 SG.... How good are they? Are we going to cut down on our turnovers?? Can they shoot?

    I hate being down!

You don't think that Mac knows that???? You think that he is that dumb??? Of course he realizes it. That is why he has recruited FIVE guards for the next TWO recruiting classes.

Re: Guard play for the future

From the looks of Diante Garrett in the few videos I have seen and a few conversations with some guys that have seen him play he should be able to contribute immediately. He is long and tall for a point guard at 6'5. He is smooth with the ball and can get to the hoop, has good body control and can finish with authority. Yes a point guard who can finish with authority. Boozer is supposed to be a defensive stopper and Staiger has the shot from outside. He is also 6'5 and weighs 190 which is about as much as our posts weigh this year.

Re: Guard play for the future

I would have to say that Gmac should give Dodie all of the playing time over McI, now. Unfortunately, we are now playing for the future, and McI does not show me any upside to begin playing winning Big 12 basketball.

Dude, relax. Did he say anything about GMac not realizing that? He's asking for some info on the guys coming in.

That's all well and good, and I apologize to the guy.

It is just sickening when I am reading this nonsense about Mac not being the guy to run the program. He may not be, but there is no way that anyone can make that statement 23 games into his tenure. These same people were talking NCAA after we beat Missouri, now are whoa's me, we are the worst team in the league.

I think you're taking the criticism of this team and how they're playing as attacks directly on Greg.

Sure, a few folks are not fans of Greg or don't like some of the things he's doing. Yet the vast majority really like him and understand what we have this year.

But we still want this team to play better than it has at times.

Where are you reading criticisms of Mac at? I haven't seen any but maybe I missed them. Are you reading these posts carefully?

Playing better is directly proportional to the amount of talent that is in the program. Now if this team looked like this in Greg's 4th year, then I would say that there was a big cause for concern. However, since it is his first year, and he had a lot of attrition, I can't be upset about the way the team has played. I don't think that we have lost to a team that is less talented that we are (even Colorado, they are young, but there is talent there), and I think that we have beaten teams that have more talent than us. That seems to me to be a sign that the program is in pretty good hands.

Read some of the Missouri stuff, and there were people on there talking about Mac getting outcoached, and there were at least five different references about wondering if he was the guy.

Re: Guard play for the future

The Texas loss was a very good game by us, maybe our best game yet behind Missouri.

    Maybe we are getting it.

    The A&M game was terrible.

We better beat Oklahoma if we want NIT.
