4 star wr drops Neb for Kansas

Blue Springs (Mo.) WR Keeston Terry has decided to drop Nebraska and commit to Kansas after being committed to the Cornhuskers for nearly three months, Scout.com reported. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound receiver is rated a four-star by two recruiting services, and estimates he caught 50 passes for around 900 yards last fall as a junior. Terry also had scholarship offers from Kansas State, Missouri, Stanford and Illinois, just to name a few.

I was real torn between the two schools, but you can only choose one, and my heart was leading me a different direction," Terry told Scout.com.

I wonder if Bo is in favor of an early signing period.

Who would have thought that Kansas would be beating out Nebraska for players?

5 years ago, this might have been surprising, but I don't think it is now.

I wouldn't hold too much pity for Nebraska. Their 2010 commitment list has only 4 players on it, but three of them are 4-star players.

Rhoads has some work to do to become a power in the north again, the days of being in title races seems so long ago. KU & Mizzou keep making it tougher and tougher.

We won't be in the Big 12 title race again until we can start winning recruiting battles and get more 4-5 star recruits to ISU.

That won't happen until Rhoads proves he can win even without major talent.

Going 6-6 and getting to a bowl game would be absolutely huge, IMO.

    bolded for truth

5 star recruits may be asking a little much. According to Rivals, there are no 5 star recruits on the Jayhawk squad. Most of Kansas' team is made up of three star recruits. Missouri has 2 5 star players. One is an incoming freshman, and the other backed up Chase Daniel last year.

Shoot, there are only 17 5-star players in the nation if you go by Rivals Top 100.

I would be really happy just to see us win some recruiting battles against other quality schools. I don't care if they are 5 star players or 1 star players. That will show progress to me.

To bad this kid will lose at least 1 of his stars. He looks like a 3 star kid now.

I wonder how the Nebraska papers are going to spin this. I'm sure they will say that NU really didn't want him, or that they were more interested in a different kid. Times have changed and NU is not a Top 10, let alone a Top 25 program any more.

    HuskerExtra.com - Lincoln, Nebraska - Football

It really didnt have anything to do with Lincoln being a bad place or anything, the people or anything like that, Terry said in a phone interview. I just felt a little more comfortable with Lawrence.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Terry is a native of Blue Springs, Mo. His parents both went to KU. His father, Doug Terry, played safety for the Jayhawks. Im hoping this is it for me, Terry told the Journal Star. I feel like this is it.

Oh the kid live in Missouri and his dad went to KU. This doesn't worry me. Legacy recruits usually are a little easier to recruit.

Well actually when the number 1 recruit in the country has ISU on the radar screen, I would say that yes the ISU connection is helping us. We just need to close the deal!

At isu we just need to get those 3 and even 2 stars that are diamonds in the rough. We need coaches that can develop that talent(we have it now IMO). we also need a few of those 4 stars to sprinkle in a little more athletic ability.
