    Big 12 Championship Game

Just looking at the history of the Big 12 Championship Game and it is really a tale of the "haves" and the "have-nots":

    7 Oklahoma6-1
    4 Nebraska2-2
    4 Texas2-2
    4 Colorado1-3
    3 Kansas State1-2
    2 Texas A&M1-1
    2 Missouri0-2
    0 Baylor0-0
    0 Iowa State0-0
    0 Kansas0-0
    0 Oklahoma State0-0
    0 Texas Tech0-0

Stoopsie has really dominated this thing since he has been at OU. The North is 4-9. I had forgotten about UT beating CU 70-3 in the 2005 game...the North was exceptionally weak for most of this decade.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

ISU was a field goal away from being them getting beat 70-3

We wouldn't have gotten beat nearly as bad as CU did. Would we have lost? Yes, but probably more like 45-20. We KILLED an OSU team that gave Texas a huge run for their money that year.

We'll never know, but considering that CU team had given up on its season, quit on its coach and half-*** prepared for that game, it's easy to see why they got drubbed the way they did.

I don't think there's any way ISU wins that game if we beat KU that year, but there's no doubt in my mind that we put up a much better fight than CU did.

Not only that, but the game IIRC was in Kansas City. Considering what we did to FSU down there, I think it's safe to say we would have turned Arrowhead into Jack Trice South and would have given Texas a run for their money. Would have come up short, but I remember reading an article back then saying something along the lines of the only school Texas didn't want to face in the championship game that year was Iowa State.

Ahhh, those were the days. The days where people didn't want to play ISU. Hopefully that happens again. Even North Dakota State is excited to play us cuz they think they can win.

I thought the B12 title game was at Reliant in Houston that year. I could be wrong but I seem to remember that bc Vince Young was from Houston and we ended up playing our bowl game there anyway.

You're right - 2005 was Houston, 2004 was Kansas City. The two seasons were so eerily similar that sometimes they run together in my mind.

Yeah, I had to think about it for a second too. We should have been in both of them regardless.

Yes, the North has been bad, but not 1/2 as BAD as the Big 10.
