    Cyclones.com pre-Fall Two-Deep & Schwartz/Williams

Who do you think will see more time as a back-up to ARob in '09? I had been thinking Schwartz, but according to the DMR Williams is #2. For those who watched both, is it fair to say Schwartz has decent shake/quickness, and good power; while Bo has more straight speed, decent shake, and could have good power?
ISU football: Randy Peterson reports from Big 12 Media Days | DesMoinesRegister.com | The Des Moines Register

Also, there is a pre-Fall depth chart at:
    http://www.cyclones.com//pdf5/625854...B_OEM_ID=10700

13 newcomers (RS's and true newcomers) listed in the two-deep. I expect a couple of new names to be added by the end of fall. It will be interesting to see if this is the O-line come Sept. 3rd, and if they are still that huge. I was under the impression that Haughton would be LT...KO does have better length.

    Re: Schwartz or Williams

For the first time in a long while, I'm really excited about not only the top 2, but the top 3 running backs competing for playing time. I don't have any doubts that we'll see both these guys on the FB field this season and I wish them all the best.....we'll need EVERYONE to step up and play their part to turn things around.

I'm not well informed about the new OC, but I thought he ran a spread at TCU. Is there going to be a lot of touches for the RB's or will they be seeing the ball on dump off passes and screens?

Wow, ISU will be a senior/junior heavy team on offense in 2010.

If Alvarez and Tuftee are the only option at center, the line is going to struggle.

For the love god, please let LJ return punts.

    He is from Rice.
    I would guess so.

It is surprising. The positive spin would be that they are not the only option (could shuffle the line), and are still there. However, given the performance by the center last season, if they are the best option, there is some concern. I was hoping to see Laamak at center.

    Re: Schwartz or Williams

I heard Reggie Stephens on the radio yesterday and it sounds like the coaches have tried him out there (at center) and he liked it. he said that he liked making the calls for the rest of the line.

My bad. So I wonder will there be enough touches to keep Schwartz and/or Williams around. Everybody wants to play and get the ball. Hopefully they will stay and help this team go places.

I like this idea too, but him getting injured on this type of position would suck for the defense later on. Its a tough one.

I really, really hope this is something Reynolds or one of the other wide receivers can do and become a playmaking threat. Gets the ball in the hands of a playmaker if we can figure out how to occasionally make the other team punt.

    Re: Schwartz or Williams

We're still trying other guys out at center? Uh oh.

Can anybody tell me about Austen Alburtis? I don't know a thing about the guy.

I'm not excited about losing Lyle and Parker next year but I like the possibility of three years of Liang and Maggitt. I've never seem them play but I like what I've heard.
