    Wow---I was impressed

Just got back from the Cyclone Gridiron Club meet the coaches night in Ames. Had a chance to visit with Coach Chizik and almost all of his assistants. Gentlemen they are a very impressive group of men. Gene is everything I hoped for and more. His assistants are really great people and I can't wait to see them in action.

I will mention a couple of coaches specifically, but really all of them impressed me. McFarland really stood out to me. He has a great personality and is very genuine guy. Coach Raney, DB coach is young but very impressive.

The other thing that stood out to me was commraderie among these coaches. They really seemed the cliche one team one dream. Great rapport with each other, huge respect for Coach Chizik and very determined.

They all seem to be adjusting well and are in process of find homes and different stages of moving families.

I think we are in great great hands.

(BTW....seemed genuinely excited about guys coming in and are now after taking a couple of days off, will be turning to getting to know their position players better and preparing for Spring ball)

One more thing. If you haven't looked at joining the Gridiron Club. Take a serious look. It is a great way to help advance our football program and along the way you get to particpate in great events like tonight. In just three years they have give $400,000 to Cyclone football. There are just under 500 members so far and they want to get to 4000-5000

    Re: Wow---I was impressed

Isn't it nice to have a coach, and a coaching staff that focuses on their team rather than looking for a reporter, any reporter, I can tell how great of a job I am doing this week.

This is what good programs do, they focus on COACHING, not self promotion, then have to use spin to confuse people as to the real reasons that they fail.

May be more. I do believe having three jucos in fold early means we can get up to four more unless we have some penalties.

Let my Fred's Posse Ride: Georges, Naz, Hogue, Bryce, Nader, Monte, Matt, and McKay.

Noticed that Patrick Neal (John's brother) is included in this class. He must have been a "greyshirt" last year.

    Re: Wow---I was impressed

Oh to the brave soul who yet again refused to sign a negative rep for my post on this thread. Sorry that all Dan could get was a position coach job at a crummy commuter school, but next time have some courage, let me know who I am talking to.

Then they did it again, do you people live your lives like this???

To the last guy who sent it (of course WITHOUT signing their name), at least you were clever, even if you have no courage.

Lets stay on topic in threads. While I didn't leave rep good or bad, this thread is about the new staff. No need to use the opportunity to go after the prior staff

Why does everyone worry about rep points? Do you get money for each point or something? Go ahead and give me all the negative ones you want. Can I give myself some negative ones?
