Makes sense. No matter how much we like our guys. From the outside they probably look pretty week.

Re: ESPN U Breakdown of Recruiting

It will be really tough for ISU to ever break the top 6 or so in the Big 12 won't it? I mean we have to go against all the Texas schools, Oklahoma, Nebraska.

In the future I could see us getting up there on the list in the North, but we aren't going to be stealing very many guys from the big schools down south.

I've gotten used to being the underdog. I kinda like it. Let's just show them what we can do with this team.

If we recruit the same guys as say texas. if they get him they add a star, if we get them they subtract a star. that is just how it works.

Re: ESPN U Breakdown of Recruiting

this ranking will make it all the more sweeter when ISU starts shocking some of the big names who pull in 4 and 5 star recruits constantly... hey, at least there is less of a chance of the 2 and 3 star recruits going pro early!

does anyone know by chance what Berryman was ranked coming into Ames?

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

I think that Gene did an awesome job considering what he had to work with. He was working on a shortened schedule. Also it's not like he had a strong base to build from. He needed to go get some guys that could step in and help immediately if he wants to be at all competitive this year.

I like this class because it shows Chiz is committed to getting great players on both lines that are heavy and athletic. I think we've seen enough bad offensive line play since 2001 to last a while.

Our new players are faster than the past.
They appear to not get injured in their bios.
Several are tall enough for their positions 6-5 for oline and tall safeties.
Most are from Texas and Florida.
None appear to be just fat from pics.
    Lots of linemen and secondary.
    Lots of jucos.
    Only one recomitted elsewhere.
End of day - we have a good start.

Re: ESPN U Breakdown of Recruiting

Sometimes all these recruiting experts don't put a lot of weight on JUCO's. They do all their studying on the High School players. We'll start seeing how good of a class this was in 2 years and see if these JUCO's panned out.

Re: ESPN U Breakdown of Recruiting

We might start seeing it next year if the O-line Chizik's recruited is as solid as we think it's going to be. Just think - Meyer may actually have time to check down!
