Vick maybe suspended 4 games this year?

The anticipation and speculation can stop. Roger Goodell has reached a decision on Michael Vick, NFL sources told ESPN.
League sources told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio and Chris Mortensen Thursday that sometime next week Goodell is expected to announce a conditional reinstatement of Vick, which would allow Vick to go to training camp if he signed with a team but that could also include a four-game suspension.
"Can we suspend him in basically double jeopardy?" asked the league source. "That's the question."
Goodell had already given Vick an indefinite suspension that ran concurrent with the 23-month federal prison sentence and home confinement stemming from Vick's role in an illegal dogfighting ring.
According to a source close to Vick, the former Falcons quarterback is hoping to receive no additional punishment. A four-game suspension would likely inhibit his ability to catch on with an NFL team. No teams have expressed interest in bringing Vick in for a tryout as of yet.

What do you think and where do you see him ending up?

I think he should be suspended zero games. But than again I also think it is dumb he spent so much time in jail while Donte Stallworth was out in how many days?

I would agree that Vick's prison time was a little on the steep side.

It's because he was convicted on Federal charges. Just speculating though.

It is effed up he goes so long for dog fighting for Stallworth gets 24 days for killing a person.

I hate dog fighting with a passion, but if you're going to lock up Vick for 2, then Stallworth should get **** tons of time.

don't get me wrong, I am not saying that what Vick did is in anyway worse than what Stallworth did. I'm just saying that Federal crimes, as I understand it, tend to carry longer prison terms, and there is less chance of being released early. A lawyer could probably confirm this for us. I'm just offering this up as an explanation as to why Stallworth got less time.

I think they should let him play. Regardless of what the NFL does, he'll be paying for his faults for the rest of his life. Time to give him a fair opportunity to resume his life and career while he still has some youth. Instead of trying to hold him down, the NFL should give him a fair shot at making up for his errors. The damage is already done... maybe he can make up for some of it if given a second chance.

    5. I am being tried in federal court. Can I get probation for a federal conviction?
Yes. Federal law does have provisions for probation at all levels. However, if you do receive probation as a result of a federal conviction, you will more than likely spend some time behind bars before you are released into the federal supervision program. Note that federal court does not have any stipulations for parole, so almost the only way that you can get out of prison is if you receive a probated sentence in addition to your jail time.

No I think he got what he deserved. You however made it sound like his sentence was atrocious.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello disputes ESPN's report that commissioner Roger Goodell has decided to suspend Michael Vick for four games.

"Despite what ESPN says, commish has made no decisions on MVick," said Aeillo on his Twitter page

He should be banned for this entire season. Playing in the NFL is a privilege.

I agree. The comment about double jeopardy is a silly excuse. You don't suppose that other convicted criminals pay a price at their place of employment as well? One year before reinstatement is not overly stern. I would agree that Stallworth's sentence was ridiculous in comparison.

Pacman Jones got suspended 4 games for an alchohol offense. Granted it was a common theme with him, but Vick was found guilty in federal court. He went to PMITA federal prison... It's no picnic you know...

I think a 1 year suspension is justified.
