USA womens U19 team loses to...Spain?

I thought we were the favorites in this - didn't see Spain mentioned at all. Pretty rocky start.

Judging by Fennelly's tweets leading up to this game...he wasn't surprised.

Many of his comments have centered on the fact that the effort hasn't been there, and that the women weren't ready.

That surprises me, since there's a ton of talent on that team, from big-time, intense programs.
Tweeting goes both ways...if the team has a disappointing tournament, I wonder if a player will post that the "coaching just wasn't there."

Yeah, I kind of half expected the team to come out and roll Spain, maybe that Fennelly was being overly dramatic for motivation's sake. It might just be that he was dead-on.

I will say that his tweets had been more positive of late.
