    Re: Defensive Breakdown

Pretty good. The only personnel error I see is Land, who transferred to Troy.
You said it, but we need improvement at rushing the passer and covering the middle of the field (LB, Safeties). I feel OK about the safeties, but I am not sure we will see an improvement elsewhere. Perhaps a change in coaching will be sufficient for some improvement regardless of personnel (can it get any worse?). ISU was 112 in total defense last year; a jump to at least around 80 will be needed to go bowling.

And the odd thing was that we were 10th in the conference....

Part of this fanbase is like the parable of the blind men and the elephant.

    Who knew?

Yep. KSU and A$M were below us, and we lost both. KSU and ISU actually were the same in scoring defense, but I guess we won the tie-breaker. Pass efficiency, ISU was 117 out of 119, while KSU and A$M were 95 and 108 respectivley.
Pass defense ISU finished 116, MU was 117, KU 114, Ok St 109, KSU 106, UT 104, Baylor 103, OU 99, A$M 95, TT 94, NU 89, CU 72. The Big 12 likes to pass!

    Re: Defensive Breakdown

When you said "defensive breakdown" I thought you were referring to half our defense's plays last season.

I just logged on for the first time today and saw the thread title and thought the same thing.

    LOL +1

It was an interesting choice of words.
