    Would you go to Mars?

NASA would like the government to fund a manned space flight to Mars.

With current technology it would take six months just to get to Mars. Who would volunteer for such a trip?

NASA would also like to return astronauts to the moon by 2020 and establish a lunar base that would allow them to stay on the desolate surface for up to six months. Again, this begs the question as to who would be interested in going?

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. ~ George Carlin

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life:
The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers

From what I've seen, Mars has better scenery.

Probably better to get us Cyclones up there first, so we can rename it the Cardinal Planet, as opposed to Big Red.

The time frame sounds similar to a military deployment. I don't think we'd have any trouble finding volunteers to fly to Mars or live on the moon.

This begs an interesting question. If my laptop connect card works, or my phone, I'm set!

I'm only going if they promise me the bathroom facilities will be completely operational during the duration.

I would if I were single and had no chance to ever get laid... Dying there would suck. There just isnt a reason to go to Mars as far as Im concerned in all honesty.
