    Firewall

I need to get a new firewall. What is a good one that wont slow my computer and internet down? I am willing to pay for a good one but dont want to pay crazy prices. Thanks.

You do not have one built into your router? I would suggest a hardware firewall over a software one.

    Re: Firewall

You really don't need a software "firewall" these days if you're going through a router at home.

This- If you're doing standard stuff at home, your router should have a good one.

    Re: Firewall

We have a Qwest DSL modem at home that has wireless. Will this also classify as a "router" and provide hardware firewall protection?

More than likely yes... as it is a modem/router in one unit.

Linksys makes some solid firewall/routers for small business and home use. If you want something more configurable and higher quality, you can get a sonicwall tz-180 for less than 300.00. But my guess is that you probably dont need that much heft. They are pretty reliable though.
