    Replacement golf club

So I played today - and finished short a club (7i to be specific). It was picked up, but sorta claimed by someone else unknown. So I'm a little leery that I'll ever be seeing it again.

Any ideas of the best way to go about getting a replacement? I suppose I'll do the Ebay thing, and check the local stores for used singles. Any other ideas?

    Re: Replacement golf club

did you check at the clubhouse to see if someone dropped it off there?

I was golfing a few weeks ago. We found a glove on the course. We caught up to the group in front of us and asked if they lost it. The responded "What color is it?"

yea - that was the whole "sorta claimed" part.

The group behind me picked it up, but asked another group heading the other direction (we were out on 6, they were moving from 5 (where I left it) onto 6 tee, and the claimant was going from 8 to 9, which crosses paths) who took it.

So the guys who originally picked it up catch up to us on 7 tee (which is where I first noticed it missing). I ask them and they tell me they found it, but this other group heading to 9 said it was theirs, or perhaps someone in the group ahead of them, who they were with.

So for whatever reason - clearly it wasn't theirs or their friend's, and they didn't leave it in the clubhouse. And were gone by the time we got to the clubhouse.

(pisses me off - why take a club you don't know for sure who's it is - even if you think it may be your friends)

OK tell the truth. You broke the club over your knee after a bad shot, right?

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

    Nah - that would've been my 8i on #2

I didn't know that a golf ball could go directly away from you, perpendicular to your swing.....

(Actually - by my standards - I had a pretty solid round)

    Re: Replacement golf club

    New idea.

Honey, I'll never get that club back. And I can't really have a mixed and matched set, now can I ?

So I suppose I'll just have to go out and get a new set of irons.
Best part is, her dad was my partner today and witness that I legitimately lost it.....

    Re: Replacement golf club

depends on the brand. If it's still in production, you can just order a new one from the manufacturer. Ping still makes (or has available) all their clubs back to the Eye 2.

Too bad it wasn't a 6 iron. Those are insanely common as singles because it's generally the demo club that pro shops get.

I'd appreciate it if you'd delete your post in case she happens by the site and finds out the truth ....

Adams Tight Lies GT2, circa 2006/07 - might be worth calling them. Thx.

My guess is that you could probably get one from Adams still ;)

Er, I mean, they stopped making those YEARS ago, and your only option is a new set.

I've lost two clubs that way, and it frustrates me to no end. A despicable few have made me question the term "gentleman's game".

    Clubfinders.com worked great.

Well, as it turns out you'd be wrong.

Just got off the phone with them and they said because that club is "so old" (I got them for Xmas 2006) they don't carry them any longer.

Keeping that little fact in the memory bank for when I look to upgrade down the road.

keep checking back to the lost and found. Let the staff there know too.

sometimes ppl forget to take that 'extra' club out of their bag at the first opportunity.
