    District 9

I remember seeing a really cool trailer recently for this movie and thinking it had some promise. There is another recently released trailer and I've gotta say, this is looking really really good. They are also doing some awesome viral web based marketing for this. Here is the main website:

    District 9 - Official Site

From there, you can navigate to 5 or 6 seperate websites that. One for the MNU (which in the movie appears to be the UN on steroids), one is for an anti MNU website, etc. Check it out.

The premise for the movie is that several years back, some aliens crashed on earth and people have been cohabiting with them and its caused a lot of tension for everyone. Deals with a lot of human on human issues (predjudices, discrimination, etc.) only its human/alien relations.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

I guessed on half the answers, so I guessed 1 right.

    6 of 10 correct.

(btw I got a D in Calculus. It was the only college math that I took. I was a music major.)

I've been digging around in on some of the viral sites, including a "blog" from one of the aliens named Christopher and he blogs about inequalities at work and in general. Then he starts to get more daring and associating with extremists.

    Re: District 9

I did it yesterday, I got 9/10. I assume I screwed the integral up because I looked at it for 3 seconds and picked an answer.

    District 9

Has anyone else seen the trailers for this? I'll have to admit, I thought it looked like a Transformers knock off. However, after looking a little closer it seems to be quite different. It's based on a short film called "Alive in Joburg" that you can see here:

    spyfilms.com (worldwide)

It appears to have a fairly deep plot, (an allegory for apartheid and race relations) so in other words nothing like Transformers.

Anyway this film has my interest piqued. If the feature length film keeps the same style as the short film, it looks to be very interesting.

Looks pretty interesting. Also like it won't give you a headache watching it like cloverfield did...

First trailers for it were terrible. The new trailers make it seem very interesting.

    Re: District 9

First time I saw a trailer for it, I thought it was a joke. I kept expecting some big celeb to come out laughing or something. When they didn't, I did.

Check out the thread I made on this a few weeks back. I included links to some really cool viral internet based marketing for this movie:

    Re: District 9

Honestly, this movie is either going to be a stinker or the best movie of the summer. I think it will probably be the latter and I have been hotly anticipating it for about six months now--was always a fan of the short film.

Check out Jackson and Blomkamp discussing D-9 from Comic Con... SDCC 2009: District 9 - FEARNet

I've got faith because in my experience, anything Peter Jackson touches is, at worst, still good.
