    Mac has a new job!

    http://www.gousfbulls.com/

TAMPA, FLA. -- (February 6, 2007) --USF head coach Jim Leavitt pulled off two huge recruiting coups a day ahead of national signing day when he named former Iowa State head coach Dan McCarney and Arizona pass game coordinator Mike Canales to the Bulls coaching staff. McCarney, who was the longest tenured head coach in the Big 12 during his 12th season in 2006 will be assistant head coach and defensive line coach, while Canales will coach receivers.

That is great. Leavitt has put together one heck of a coaching staff down there.

"In the 115 years of ISU football, only 16 teams have won seven games or more."

God I hate that, not so much them for writing it, just the fact that its what it is.

Good for Dan. Seems like a good fit and he'll get to live in FL.

Hopefully all of us can move on now.

Re: Mac has a new job!

Congratulations Dan McCarney! Assistant head coach and defensive line coach at USF!

For those of you that don't know, USF started a football program in 1997 and became D-I in 2001.

Does any one know what he is going to be making with USF?

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Don't you know you shouldn't post anything about Dan McCarney on this site?

Re: Mac has a new job!

that just made the UCF vs USF game even bigger... Skladany vs McCarney

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

I'm curious if his new salary is deducted from what we owe him in a buyout. Anyone know?

UCF / USF was a big game?

which of course brings up the bigger question, is there a UNF?

    UNF is in Jacksonville...The Ospreys

When I was at Simpson we played them in basketball at their place; they were D-II at the time. I believe they are D-I in basketball now. (More than you wanted to know)
