Come on now. That was a good publication in the early 90's and before. Unfortuantely, the two and a half years I wrote for it were some horrible, HORRIBLE years in the mid 00's...

yep. when liverpool supporters make airplane wings and sing songs about man united's munich air crash while united supporters sing about 96 dead liverpool supporters, things get pretty heated

Really?? Do you pay attention to any games outside of Chicago? What rivalry do you think is bigger in MLB? Oh, and speaking of teams with inflated payrolls...

    2009 Payroll:
    Yankees $201,449,289
    Mets $135,773,988
    Cubs $135,050,000

    Re: Best Rivalries in sports?

the whole AFC North could be considered.
Mets and Braves a few years ago was a good one.
Army vs Navy there is nothing like it. Be better if both were good but its a great game there respect but they still get after it
    Dodgers vs Giants
NBA Basketball really doesn't have a great rivalry right now
NHL you have the Redwings vs Blackhawks, Red Wings vs Av's in the 90's, Canandians vs Bruins, Pens vs Caps, Pens vs Flyers and Rangers vs Devils
In college basketball after the UNC vs Duke you have UCONN vs Syracuse, Syracuse vs G'Town, Duke, Wake and UNC vs Wake

Weren't you one of those that was rejoicing when the In-state rivals thread was pulled off the main page? It's posts like this that ensure that the intent of removing the In-state rival threads from the majority of public view will never work...

I get it's a joke. It's also the kind of thing that the Hawkeye fans on this site are going to jump all over and completely derail the thread (yes, I get I'm doing this right now) because someone decided to be a loose cannon and provoke them.

I have said from the beginning yesterday and today this whole "remove the In-state rivals forum" isn't going to work because the majority of threads that people get into ******* matches with Hawkeye fans over do not occur in the in-state rivals threads. Thanks for proving my point.
