    AT&T?

My wife and I are considering switching to AT&T and getting iPhones. What is your experience with one or both?

Also, does anyone know if they offer a teacher discount?

I liked it before they acquired Cingular and went to crap. I had terrible experiences with ATT/Cingular that make me hesitant to use them again.

I found THIS LINK to help you figure out if they give a discount.

Basically customer service people being a-holes. I also had some issues with phones being sold to me broken, and then them blaming me for breaking it.

That, and for some reason or other, it seemed like their coverage went to crap when they bought up Cingular. I'm not sure why that happened, or what it really was, but that was also 5 years ago.

User CP ----> Change Avatar. You need to have the picture saved on your computer for it to automatically resize. The file might be too big as well. I dunno.

    Re: AT&T?

It has been 4 or 5 years now, but we used to get constant dropped calls from their network in Eastern Iowa. It may be better but I am happy with sprint so no need to try them again.

Yea, that's what happened with me as well. Verizon and I are happy together now.

I have had AT&T for about 5 years now and I don't think I'll be switching any time soon. I can't complain at all.

    Re: AT&T?

ATT is pretty good in central Iowa. We have all of the major cell providers at work and ATT gives us the least service problems. Their billing sucks, and it is really expensive compared to sprint or tmobile.

I couldnt make calls where I was living and had no service at all. My phone wouldnt even ring when people called. AT&T refused to do anything that would make it right.

are dropped calls strictly due to the provider or the device? or both?

For me, I had the same phone when it was just ATT with no problems with dropped calls. It started happening though. I have no idea if it's been fixed or anything. It could be.

    Re: AT&T?

I'd like to have something cool like an iPhone, too, but I'm beyond the "have it to have it" phase. We've been with U.S. Cellular for more than a dozen years and it's been fine for us except for an LG model a few years ago. We now have Samsung Delves with USC's mobile browser. Wish we had better browser capability, but it's sufficient. For now.
