It's probably the 5-19 record that scares them away.

For some reason that doesn't surprise surprise me. It was like that here. Who would really want to play for a guy who has a 5-19 coaching record?? Not I. now granted it's Auburn i'm pretty sure if the right coaching was in there that would probably match Tommy's number if not exceed it. GOOD LUCK TO THE AUBURN TIGERS!! SEE YOU IN A BOWL GAME (i never said this year keep in mind)

Chiz should count all his wins as an assistant coach towards his overall record. That's what Brewster does - according to him he has 150+ wins!!

I put the over/under on Chiz lasting there at 2.5 seasons. And I'd probably bet the under.

True, goes to show you how arrogant coaches are... coming from the coach who "forgot" to put the Iowa score in the media guide.

I honestly think Chiz will go down in a recruiting scandal. Pressure will be too high where he is at and he will break some rules.

Re: The Chiz coming up short on early commits

I don't know how Chizik could lose at Auburn with the staff he has put together...

Hope he doesn't run the option when he is on the goal line at Auburn or he doesn't make year 3

Re: The Chiz coming up short on early commits

I'm sure this has more to do with Saban taking over the State of Alabama and him and Meyer taking over the SEC. Auburn missing out on recruits didn't just start this year..

I do. He is not organized. His gameday coaching is a mess. He claims he wants the staff to call the plays, yet the plays called look have Chizik written all over them.

Re: The Chiz coming up short on early commits

I'm gonna hold off on making fun of him until signing day. Verbals mean exactly jack. I recall that the only thing that ever impressed anybody on this board about chiz was his recruiting...at one point in time at least. Sedrick Johnson comes to mind.

He may be telling all his prospects once you commit you can't take visits anywhere else or we'll pull your offer. That could be having the effect that no one is willing to verbal until they've taken all their visits etc. With Chizik they can't enjoy being wowed by all the other schools after they've committed.

But in the spirit of the thread. Chiz is horrible and doomed to fail.
