    Lightbulb Favre

I know must of you are sick of Favre postings because thats all there has been this summer, but since nothing important has been posted today id like to get your thoughts on this. As the season grows closer and all the signs point to favre becoming a Viking, how do you think he will impact the team and the NFC Noth?

For me its going to be very weird cheering for Favre, but im a Viking fan and i'm going to cheer for who ever is playing. I really just hope this does not back fire.

    Re: Favre

As a life long Viking fan I'm pretty mixed on this. Like you I will root for whomever is playing and if he can actually get this team a Superbowl ring it would be great. If his presence can keep opposing defenses from stacking the box it will give Peterson plenty of holes to exploit. Hopefully Favre will realize that and will not try to do it all by himself. If he does try to do it all himself I'm afraid we will see the interception machine in full force.

No matter how you feel about this situation, Favre always played like he was having fun out there so you have to admire that.

I like your point on him trying to do it himself...I think he'll understand what kind of back field he has

I feel as though he's doing this just to spite the Packers. If he's in it for more than 2 games next year it could work out well.

As a cyclone fan it makes me SICK to see Favre taking Sage's starting spot if that were to happen. I don't give a rip about the Vikings unless Sage is their man.

Sage is nobody's man. Look at his body of work. He's a good backup, but that's about it; I couldn't see him starting more than a couple games in a row and being successful.

    Re: Favre

Favre will lead you down the road of dissapointment, but being a Viking fan, I suppose you are used to it. As far as understanding the backfield he has, he has never and will never run first, AP or no AP.

    Re: Favre

I don't think he'll hurt the team, at the same time, he's not going to take them to the super bowl either. At least not on his shoulders. I hope he can hold it together enough to at least make the passing game a threat. To take some heat off of Peterson. I shudder to think what we could have seen the last two years if anyone ever had to even think the Vikings were a passing threat.

He will have plenty of weapons around him and i think he knows that. This could possibly one of the most talented teams hes ever been on

Very used to the disappointment. Every year I get my hopes up and every year I see those hopes dashed. Of course as Cyclone fans, we're all used to disappointment.

    Re: Favre

He's a little baby that only wants to get back at the Packers. He only talked with the Vikings.... and that's it. Only because he wants to rub it in the Packers faces.

With that being said... I don't believe he will give a rip about the 14 games the Vikings play this year against teams not called the Green Bay Packers. He will play well against his old team, but that will be it. And when Brett doesn't care.... he's terrible. I look for a HUGE number of INTs this year, and the Vikes will be worse than last year because of it.

You can believe the above if you choose to.

I'll go with the fact that he has a previous relationship with the Vikings' OC. He also realizes that the offensive design and terminology that the Vikings employ is a near match to what he played in for years with the Packers as opposed to the completely different approach that he tried to adapt to with the Jets.
