    Interesting idea for NFL discipline

Helping make Goodell's decisions as easy as 1, 2, 3 - CBSSports.com News, Fantasy, Video

It's a Gregg Doyel article that lays out an idea for discipline guidelines in the NFL.

I found it to be an interesting idea.

To me, I can't even fathom that a team wants to spend that much money on a felon, so I would support the idea that the lose their opportunity.

I knew someone would say it.

It's one of those things that's worth a though, anyway.

There should be a definite guideline for things like this. The NFL's reputation suffers a lot from the poor decisions of players, and from the player's standpoint, there should be a firm code of conduct so that they know where the line is and the resulting punishment for crossing it.

It seems like common sense to have some sort of policy that is clearly defined and clearly enforced. Let the people involved know where the line is, what happens when they cross it, and then carry it out. Seems like things like that almost always work.

I agree. Otherwise, the resulting discipline is almost always directly related to the player's ability to contribute on the field.

Exactly. And people see through that stuff pretty quickly.

I would think it's got to be bad for team morale, at least for the guys that keep themselves clean, to see this junk go on.
