    Kennard Banks

Just curious to see what everyone thought about the type of year he might have this year. Before he got hurt, I thought he had a chance to be a difference maker on defense. I am really looking for some big things out of him this year.

Same here. Anybody who saw him in the spring have any thoughts?

    Re: Kennard Banks

I hate it when I see titles to thread that just say the players name. Every time I open it, I always expect to see something about how they got hurt or arrested or something.

hursts, you're giving me panic attacks man.

I went to the spring game, and I thought he looked decent. But you know as well as I do that it is tough to learn anything from a spring game. Any loss to injury is a tough one for ISU, however.

He has all the tools and reckless abandon to make a huge impact, not only in the secondary, but Special Teams. Anyone who watched him play, saw that clearly from KB. It's too bad he got hurt when he did, could of used him on the field against UNLV and KU.

I would have liked to see him make the move to safety.

    Re: Kennard Banks

He seems to be a special player, but his injury really didnt let him show what he is capable of doing. He made a nice INT in the spring game. He seems to be a big hitter and we need more of those on D. I say put him at LB for more speed out there.

I didn't mean to imply in my last post that he was just average. I agree with your statement.

UNLV especially...having him there would of been huge...considering we were w/o LJ for most of the game....we were young and dumb in the secondary and it cost us.

    Re: Kennard Banks

I think that he'll be a really good player for us this year. He seems to be pretty good at coverage and he can HIT. In fact, our whole secondary can really hit. Sims really shored up a weak spot and now I think that the secondary is as strong as it's been since Jackson/Hicks/Paris/Moser. Problem is, they won't get as much help up front as those guys had. The best secondaries can get picked apart without a pass rush. We really need Lyle and Maggitt to step up if we want to see how good those DBs are.

    Re: Kennard Banks

I really don't know how good at coverage he is. The 2? games he played healthy were against teams worse than us. lol.

We know he can hit. But the only coverage scheme we seemed to play last year was cover 2, because our safties sucked and they could never help overtop if we went man.

It will be interesting to see if we play some more coverage styles this year, and to see how good kennard actually is! I hope he tears it up!
