When is Krzyzewski going to hang up the whistle?

It seems like he must be ready to call it quits at any time now. He doesn't seem to be keeping up with Roy and he is getting up there in age (62). Of course Roy isn't getting any younger either. He will be turning 59 in a few weeks. Once he loses momentum in his program, it could be hard to get it back.

Hopefully Greg can get the program rolling at ISU. He's a young 44 years old and could be here for a long time.

He's coaching the USA team through 2012, so I don't see it ending before then

Don't confuse hope for a plan.

Re: When is Krzyzewski going to hang up the whistle?

Since he has american express and the olympic team doing his recruiting for him, it can't be that hard of a job. I think that he'll be going for another 5 years at least.

I could see only a couple more, but continue on with team USA.

Does the name Matt Doherty ring any bells?

How long was he there? I don't remember either, but he was a good recruiter.

Exactly. As long as he stays out of the Big XII, I hope he coaches forever.

Re: When is Krzyzewski going to hang up the whistle?

I would imagine it would be tough for him to retire. I sort of think of Bob Knight as the same way. There's no way he's done yet.

Didn't Bob Knight retire in the middle of the season? He didn't have any problem walking away.
