    Nashville Ideas

I am stopping in Nashville tomorrow night on my way to Alabama on Friday, looking for any must see bars, restaurants, etc... Also wondering if anyone has any ideas where would be the best area to get a hotel that would put me in walking distance of some of the better stuff to do in an evening there. I have been finding some good reviews and stuff via google but I figure there has to be some on here that have been to Nashville that may have some good advice, besides picking up a mistress at a restaurant.

I ran the Country Music Marathon twice and we always stopped into Big River for some good beer and food...

    This place is cool too...

I would stay in the Broadway area. Many good music venues in walking distance, as well as restaurants. Really fun time.

I've been to Nashville once and walked around the area along the Cumberland river across from LP Field (where the Titans play). There were a number of nice bars and restaurants in that area. This is also near where the TN capital building is.

    Re: Nashville Ideas

My all-time favorite, hands down, Nashville evening is listening to the knock-off band at Robert's Western World downtown. Best damned knock-off band going. It is not possible for a person to sit in that bar without tapping their foot. Guaranteed to have a kick-*** lead guitar playing. Get downtown by 5:00 and have Bar B Que next door to Robert's. (Can't remember the name of the place, but it is good). Both the Bar B Que and the Honky Tonk are right across the alley from the old Reiman. Robert's band starts at 5:30.

Last time I was in their (3 yrs ago) the stand-up bass was being played by the bass player from Johnny Cash's original Tennessee Three! He was GREAT!

We always have fun at Wannabe's, a big Karaoke bar out there. Probably the best karaoke you have ever seen as they are all aspiring singers...

Anything on broadway is awesome. We stopped at this bar that was painted bright pink. Was actually a lot of fun.

Eat at Jack's on Broadway. It has a pig sign. Best bar-be-que I've had. Worth the trip by itself.

Went to Coyote Ugly bar, it was a friday night(game weekend - Titans/Colts & Ole Miss/Vandy) and packed and was an awesome time. I had only been to the one in Vegas before and that one sucked! This one was much more like the movie...cheap beer, dive barish feel and rowdiness.

Only 10 people in there tonight while everything else was packed, I actually looked forward to this place but it must be the typical scene wearing out thing.

I didn't get downtown until 9:00 and the BBQ place was already closed, I did hear that it is really good though.

    Re: Nashville Ideas

I finally made it to town around 830 but my hotel was the Marriott across from the Vandy football stadium, pretty nice field with a bunch of construction going on, the hope must be helping out the donations. I ended up eating at the Wild Horse Saloon since they had Keith Anderson playing tonight and was one of the only restaurants still serving food, besides the pita place and a pizza joint. Ended up going to the "old" Nashville bars on Broadway after that and had a good time, kind of crappy alone but still a good time. I appreciate the advice from you all.
