    Roy Halladay

Jays' Halladay all but gone in Toronto - FOX Sports on MSN

What team does he end up with?

Signed through next year with a NTC. Will likely cost a team 2-3 of their top prospects.

I included all the options from the Rosenthal article, though I guess he could end up with someone else.

If Ryan Braun had his way, it'd be Milwaukee

I think they keep him until next year. Some team will consider renting him (see: CC)

They should make a run at him. I guess their ballpark is great. He is such a great pitcher, could keep them in the central race.

I hope the Red Sox make a play for him. Not sure if the price will be more since they are in the same division, but man he just is such a solid pro. It would be great to see the Twins make a shocking move for once too, and add a real solid arm for next year opening a new ballpark.

    Re: Roy Halladay

I think the fact that he is signed through 2010 makes it nearly impossible for the Red Sox and Yankees to get him, which should bring his price down a little bit.

FWIW, I voted for the Dodgers. Seems like a really good fit.

I'll set the over/under for how long it takes me to puke at 15 minutes if I hear he's goin to New York or Boston.

    Re: Roy Halladay

I'd love for him to join the Red Sox rotation, but as the article points out, pitching isn't their primary concern. I voted for the White Sox because they have already shown they are looking for a big time pitcher (Deal was all but done for Peavy before he nixed it) and Halladay could easily put them over the top in the AL Central.

    Re: Roy Halladay

The White Sox have the prospects, the GM, and the money to do it. It will take more than the Peavy deal, though.

Halladay, Buehrle, Danks, and Floyd for the next two seasons makes me happy in the pants.

What is your reasoning behind this? If anything I think that makes it more likely the Red Sox or Yankees would be interested. Perennial contenders would see more upside in a 1.5 year player then a .5 year "let's make a run now" rental.

    Re: Roy Halladay

And like Rosenthal says, the Rangers have all the ammo to get him, that'd also be really intriguing.

Cubs don't have the pieces to get him unless they want to send chunks of their major league roster, likely including Randy Wells/Jake Fox.

The last thing the Cubs need on the roster is a pitcher who gets hurt a lot on the roster through next season. That happened last year.

I don't see Halladay agreeing to a trade with the Rangers. They've played well, but I don't see them outlasting the Angels.

Because the Blue Jays have to play each of those teams 19 times per season. That would leave a really bad taste in the mouth of their fans.

You're a Red Sox fan. Would you have been happy if Nomar or Manny would have been traded to the Yankees?
