    Re: 2009-2010 Starting Line up?

It seems that the only locks are Brackins and Gilstrap.

I still think it will be Garrett at the point, but some people on here close to the team say that Buckley is looking good there and is likely to start. Colvin will not be starting there this season.

Shooting guard was the most controversial last season, and I suspect it will stay that way. I suspect Lucca will start there, but it could just as easily be Christopherson, Garrett, or Boozer. Colvin will undoubtedly see some time at the 1 and/or 2, but I'd bet a lot that he won't start this season.

Gilstrap will start at the 3 and Brackins at the 4.

The 5 is a toss-up between Hamilton, The Notorious JVB, and Dendy. Both Ham and JVB started here at some point last year. I suspect that will happen again.

    PG: DB/CC
    SG: DG/SC
    SF: MG/LS
    PF: CB/LD
C: JVB/JH I think these two will split time depending on match-ups..

    Re: 2009-2010 Starting Line up?

JVB is better off the bench IMO. He doesn't rebound or play defense worth a lick and if he's not hitting his 3's he has no business getting extended minutes in a game. He only started 2 or 3 games I think last year and he never really did nearly as well as a starter than he was as a different kind of look coming off the bench. Hopefully Ham shows some good improvement from the offseason as that kid seems pretty fundamentally sound, a hard worker, and with some post moves could be a pretty good option to compliment Brackins in the paint.

Mac mentioned that Diante may slide over to the two some this year, so I wouldn't be surprised to see two ball-handlers on the court at once. Maybe not starting, but we'll see.

I pretty much agree with this, except I'd still be surprised if it's not DG and SC at 1 and 2.

Yes, Oliver is going to redshirt this year, and add strength.

Moving Garrett of the ball takes away a lot of his value, imo.

He'll still be doing the things he does best...slashing, finding the open guy or attacking the hoop...IF he plays the 2.

Exactly, and you're not wearing him out bringing the ball up the floor and then asking him to bust his *** on defense.

Yeah, I cannot see how it would make DG's game better. That said, I think there are situations where DG + Buck would be a net gain the team compared to DG + Lucca or DG + Scott or DG + Colvin. It would help if Gilstrap, Brackins, and whoever plays the 5 are decent at three-point shots. At some point though, if Buck becomes good enough were we need to have him on the court, DG may see severely reduced playing time.

Is this a for sure thing? I kind of hope so but I didn't think they would decide on that so soon.

I'm afraid that this is the only way we finish in the top half of the B12.
