I don't know if I'd go that far

    Greinke: 10-4, 121.1 IP, 109 H, 27 ER, 19 BB, 120 SO, 2.00 ERA

    Haren: 8-5, 121.0 IP, 85 H, 29 ER, 15 BB, 119 SO, 2.16 ERA

    Lincecum: 9-2, 121.0 IP, 97 H, 30 ER, 30 BB, 141 SO, 2.23 ERA

Lincecum is far and away the best pitcher in the MLB. 141 K's in 121 IP!! 9-2 record and that ERA started pretty high in the beginning of the year and just keeps dropping. hes got the best stuff in baseball. pure stud.

10-3 American League wins co-leader with 16 years of MLB service
7-4 dude with 2 years of MLB service

Yeah, Blackburn's ERA is better, but ERA doesn't tell the whole story. Who would you rather have, Dallas Braden or CC Sabathia? Brad Bergesen or Josh Beckett?

Blackburn isn't even the Twins starter I'd fear seeing the most; Slowey is.

yeah i disagree. his performances this year speak for themselves. and to me, years of service shouldn't be a requirement or any part of the equation.

I'd rather have Kevin Millwood than either of those two. :)

10-3 vs 7-4. I can tell you who is going to make the cut the overwhelming majority of the time.

some of the time....how far are you gonna take it though? if a guy has a 5 era and 10 wins does he deserve an all star bid. i wouldn't vote for that guy.

Millwood ERA is more impressive than Blackburn's just simply because Millwood pitches in a launching pad.

as of this moment, Lincecum is the best pitcher in the MLB in my opinion. the numbers agree with me.

ERA is a misleading stat in my book. I'll take the Yankees as my example.

Team ERA is #23 in the majors out of 30 teams (4.42). Seattle's is #3 in the majors at 3.73. Which staff would I rather have 1-5 and bullpen? Yankees. No doubt. Washburn and King Felix have been excellent this year as has Bedard (when he's healthy), and their team ERA is a lot lower, but I'll take my chances with Sabathia, Wang, Burnett, Pettitte, and Chamberlain because they pitch in a launching pad (I think New Yankee Stadium has re-defined launching pad). Seattle plays at Safeco which is more of a pitchers park which leads to them having a better ERA.

I wonder when people will figure out that Mark Buehrle and CC Sabathia are essentially the same pitcher, except one is a lot fatter, strikes out a few more and walks a few more, and makes a lot more.

Buehrle is more consistent. CC can be absolutely horrid one start, and then fire off back to back shut outs. It's quite frustrating.
