    Lake houses?

Do any other CFers have any lake houses that they own/visit every summer? We're finally going up next weekend through that whole week, and will be going up again sometime in August. It's truly a great time with family. We fish, tube, skii, drink, and do everything up there that we can't do any other time of year here.

The house is on Kabekona Lake in Northern Minnesota. I mainly posted this because I want to hear some stories or memories from other people's lake houses or cabins, so please share some of your stories.

We have a house on Lake Como in Italy, but our private jet is in the shop so we won't be visiting it this summer.

I had a small lake in my basement last year during the flood.

I'm sorry. Some of us are on a budget. I would've done better if I could have.

    Re: Lake houses?

My family has a cabin near Winchester, WI way up past Minocqua around Boulder Junction/Manitowish Waters

Was just up there for the 4th fishing, swimming and watching the locals try to dig up every piece of John Dillinger "history" they can sell

    LOUD NOISES!

I've seen lake houses, does that make me relevant? They seem pretty nice, what with their house-like features ... oh and the lake.

    Cool Re: Lake houses?

I don't own a lake house but it's in my plans ( I hope ) to buy one within the next 10 years.

As a kid we went to Okoboji for a week each summer and I have SO MANY great memories. We didn't have a cabin but we stayed at Fillenwarth every year so if felt like it was our cabin. I know take my wife and young kids to Okoboji for summer vacations and we have so much fun.

    Re: Lake houses?

I was just looking at houses down at the Ozarks. I'm gonna try and crunch some numbers to see if it could be done. I would have to rent it out a majority of the time for that to happen and i'm not sure that is realistic.

I don't think most of our lake stories from 'boji can be posted on here without serious consequences.

    Re: Lake houses?

No lake house but we do boat at Lake Panorama about every weekend during the summer. My 6 yr old is a like a fish and we have to use a net to get her back in from the water sometimes.

I did grow up around 'boji and would visit our aunt and uncles cabin frequently. it was always a big treat to head over there and fish, boat and swim.
