    Another Dishwasher question

    6 year old Maytag dishwasher.
Detergent isn't getting used. Still in the reservoir when the cycle is through. Using the same detergent as always. Not sure if not enough water is getting in or if there's not enough water pressure to get it out of there.

Something you have in the silverware dispenser is most likely blocking water from the middle wash tower to wash out the soap from the soap dispenser. watch how you rack out your dishes between the wash tower and dispenser. this is the problem.

That was my first thought as well, but the same thing is happening with the dishwasher empty.

Do you have a DW with a center wash tower?

Is the dispenser all caked with dried soap, so that the latch wouldn't disengage when the timer calls on it to?

It is open. The soap is sitting in the prewash as well.
I don't know even remotely how a DW operates so no idea what could be causing it.

If it is open then the water that is supposed to wash it out is not getting to it. If you have a DW with a center wash tower, that water comes from two small holes facing the front of the DW. Perhaps you have a plugged water hole in your wash tower?

I assume that's what it is. It is not connected to everything else, but is attached to the bottom rack and looks like water probably goes up through it when the rack is pushed in.
