    USA vs. S. Korea (Brackins)

U.S. up by 30 at what I am assuming is the half. Brackins has 3 pts, 3 rbs.

Up to 9 points and 6 boards. 4-5 from the field. Looks like a balanced team effort.

Did Gabon forfeit? It has Brazil with a 20-0 win.

I found it interesting that it was a 20-0 win. It must have something to do with penalizing them for +/- differential in the case of a tie.

Click on the day you want to see and you can get to the games from there. Someone posted the site in the US/Finland thread.

Those first two games weren't even difficult. They shot 60% in this game. Mexico won by more than 60 points today.

Re: USA vs. S. Korea (Brackins)

Team USA will play Greece and Serbia in their next round robin, needing to likely win one of those games to advance to the quarterfinals...Serbia beat the US convincingly a few days ago in an exhibition fwiw.

Lucca and Germany will play Lithuania and Romania in their next round robin, most likely needing to win both games to advance to the quarterfinals-which will be VERY tough to do, as Lithuania is one of the favorites.

It's a little different how they do things, as they take the top 2 teams from each pool and advance them to the next pool-but take those two teams results against each other and factor them into their record for the next pool...Latvia and Germany both advanced from Lucca's first round robin to their next one with Romania and Lithuania, but since Germany already lost to Latvia, they are 0-1 already and probably need to win both games to advance.

Yeah, I was trying to figure that out. It is an interesting method. Makes the preliminary round more important than in some tourneys.

Re: USA vs. S. Korea (Brackins)

The disparity in talent levels out there is just incredible...I talked to a buddy of mine that played for UNI after they went out to Thailand a couple years ago to represent Team USA in the World University games.

He told me that when they played against Lithuania, they felt like boys playing against men-and were just physically abused and overmatched...but they also destroyed Angola-and his comments to me about that were that I literally could've played and contributed for Team Angola. Quite the difference in competition.

They were also treated like rock stars, being asked to hold people's babies and pose for pictures for people. I'm sure there will be differences with the new setting, but this will be quite the experience for Craig, and Lucca for that matter.
