    Another Gilstrap Article

Linehan is helping us get through until FB with these articles. This one talks about his leg injury.
On a side-note, I saw on Rivals that Ok State picked up an athletic big man transfer from Kentucky, who was also considering Memphis and Maryland. Big addition for Ok. St as they were missing a big guy in the middle. The Big 12 just gets harder and harder. If ISU makes the Tournament it will be well deserved.

If he is a transfer he probably won't be playing this year (unless there are other circumstances).

    Thanks for the link.

It has been said he will get the wavier. He transferred to Kentucky after his freshman year, sat out 08-09, and then Coach Cal gave him the boot.

    Re: Another Gilstrap Article

    nice little article on Gilstrap.
I'm sure this has been established already, but how is it that he only has one year to play?
He played in a handful of games at JC, got hurt, sat for 2.5 years, came back last year, played the full season.
    What am I missing?

Once your NCAA clock starts, you have 5 years to play 4 years in BB. His clock started 2005-2006.

How many times can he transfer? It just seems odd.

I would think this will be the last one. He transferred up after a good freshman season at Hampton. After redshirting, Cal comes in with his McD boys, and did not renew his scholarship.
Here is what NBADraft.net has to say (they gave him an 85):
Forward with excellent versatility, has the ability to pass and handle plus face the basket or go inside Pilgrim has a good feel for the game ... He has active hands and has a real presence on the floor when he decides to play .... His stroke has vastly improved since he got to college ... In high school he was very much an inside banger, who has developed a good face up game and 3 point shot. His athletic ability is above average ... Can play with anyone in the country and dominate ... He is a terrific ball handler for someone who has played inside for so long. His long arms give him added size and make him a solid shot blocker and also rebounder ... Maintains excellent post skills to compliment his now improving perimeter game An excellent rebounder ...

Sounds like they got someone that can play D on Brackins. I was hoping he would pick Maryland.

Not many can play D on Brackins. If Gilstrap is as good the experts say it will be even harder to guard him.

Do we have Jess Settles to thank for this?

Jess will be coming out of retirement soon. He will be the Hawk wearing the red wig and claiming to be a walkon.
