ISU DC ranked 4th in conference

The NU Rivals site has Wally as one of the top DC in the Big 12. The only ISU player to make their list of the top five players at each position was Brandtner.

Helu as the 5th best RB in the conference? I think they are a little biased on that one

Yeah, Wally is good, but I can't believe anything they have. I think it is funny that they squeezed a NU player into almost every category.

Running back numbers are so dependent on the line that it is hard to judge. I think ISU's RB's are below the elite of the Big 12 (OU and Ok St), but could be on that list if not for poor Oline play.
Franklin at TE has the potential to be top 5 imo.
I like AA, and he may win us some games, but all of the 5 in front of him are better.
After the top two at WR, I think ISU has a couple of guys that can compete. Hopefully Briscoe is ineligible, but knowing KU he won't be. What was Bryant and Briscoe rated as coming out of high school?

I wouldn't have put any of our guys top 5 except Brandtner, Wally, and MAYBE Herman. Maybe.

With that said, I like where we sit with TE, KR, QB, and CB. WR has potential but there hasn't been any productivity on the field to even warrant a top 10 listing.

Brandter is a great punter. He will never put up huges numbers cuz he is so good at pinning you inside the 5. I would not trade him for very many other punters in the Big XII.

How did LJ not make the top 5 for KR/PR?

It depends if these ratings are based on past performance or how one anticipates their upcoming seasons to be. It is all just speculation.
Based on past performances, I think LJ at KR has an argument, although the zero TD stat is big.
Oh, and Bryant was a 4-star, #9 WR out of high school. Briscoe was a 3-star, 5.5 by Rivals.

By "almost every" you mean less than half, right? (6 / 13)

Really wish we'd have the 4th best defense in the conference this year, but Wally will really have to pull a hat trick to do that.

Still if you're recruiting, that kind of ranking will help you.

Actually that would be right where I put him when I started thinking of the best backs in the conference without looking at their rankings. When I did, I didn't have quite their order (but I am going off of a full season of Murray being healthy, otherwise I would give the top spot to Hunter as well), but Helu checked in at #5 for me as well. He turned out to be really good for them over the last 2/3 of the year and looks to be better than Lucky as far as a runner (maybe won't get quite the same number of catches, but he also isn't a nutjob like Lucky either).

Who else would be higher than Helu if he isn't 5th?
