ESPN also has a "Terrific 25" up for 2012. Staten is not listed. Staten's AAU teammate, Perry Ellis, is #2.

I find these rankings hilarious...some are ranked way too high (Mike Shaw, for example) and others are ranked way too low. I'm starting to realize just how clueless these guys are about a lot of players.

Interesting. Thats why most the time I dont pay too much attention. Although you knew Randle would be pretty high. As well as Naadir Tharpe.

These guys have probably watched those guys play a dozen times and you have watched them play exactly ZERO times. How do you know who is to high and to low? You read it on a message board? Wow!

Or maybe I have watched them play dozens of times. As much as you hate to believe it, I do have ways of watching these guys play/ talking to people to who actually know what they're talking about, etc.

And by the way, I know for a fact that Jerry Meyer has seen several of these players only once.
There's no way Darrell Longstreet is a 4-star, either.

How do you have ways of watching guys play that live on the east coast? You don't even have a drivers license. And just b/c some other guy that you talk to on the internet says a kid is better doesn't mean they are more right.

And the guys that Jerry watches only play once are not ranked in the top 50 99% of the time.

There actually are places on the internet that boradcast AAU games, and regular season games. I saw Ejim play five or six AAU games online a couple months ago, along with some other ISU targets. I've also seen several of Haley's AAU games, etc. etc.

This class is 2 years away from being done and that kid is ranked 98th! He could be like Dykstra and slide a little more everytime the rankings come out. Fact is that these guys watch 100X more bball than you. Know 100X more bball than you and have actually seen these guys play ball

I said this repeatedly and just about got my head ripped off... Scouting services have no idea; stars are pointless.

I used to put a lot of stock in them, but lately, I don't really think that they have any clue what they're talking about.

How many kids in the top 100 have you watched play? And watching a game on the internet is a lot different than watching it live

Easy on the young man. I know a lot of people get to watch other kids through AAU.

They only matter when we are the ones getting the 4 and 5 star players. Otherwise they are meaningless.

Facts are facts. UNC, UCLA, Kansas get 4 and 5 star players and they win 30 games a year. While rivals isn't always right, they are right a hell of a lot more than they are wrong
