The best news that I won't hear today...

...with the 18th pick the Minnesota Timberwolves select Craig Brackins, Iowa State.

No offense, but if Brackins is going 18th in this draft, he would be mid-2nd round next year... I'd expect him to be a lottery pick after all of the people that dropped out, or decided not to declare....

That actually works in our favor as well. Maybe he will see the talent in next years draft and want to come back for his senior season!!

If you guys read Bill Simmons, he always talks about the defining moment that got the Red Sox over the 86-year hump. It was Dave Roberts' steal back in Game 4 of the ALCS. Since that moment, the Red Sox have been a different team.

I really feel that Brackins deciding to come back, could be the type of good luck moment that ISU basketball needed. Our "Dave Roberts" moment if you will.

Nbadraft.net has him 9th. He will not be a mid-2nd round. Not even close.

His stock will rise after he puts up 50 points and a quadruple-double against Duke.

He would have been drafted in the first round.

I agree, after seeing some of the guys who were drafted this year...Brakins probably would've been a better fit for the Knicks than Jordan Hill.

That's what I am saying. Reread my post.... I said if you have him going 18th this year, he would go in the 2nd round next year.

READ THIS CLOSELY jonmiller and CB21......

    READY???

OK: This is the WORST draft class, possibly in history. Tyler Hansbrough was a lottery pick this year. Brackins would've been drafted 7th or 8th IMO. For sure top 10. If Brackins was going as late as 18th THIS YEAR, then that would've been bad, as everyone after pick 10 or so was a BENCH player or NON-Roster player.

NOW: Next year when there's Cole Aldirch, Collins, and a slew of one and done types of guys, not to mention others, it will be tough to put Brackins in the top 13 this next year. He probably will be a mid to late 1st round pick.

Do you guys get it? Try reading everything over before posting and responding...

Re: The best news that I won't hear today...

You all need to calm down on where he would have been drafted number. I just put a number out there for the first round as an example of why it's good that I won't be hearing it.

Man, some of you guys are cranky this morning! Let's all head to Caseys for a breakfast slice of pizza and calm down a little...

He also could have been dropped to the 2nd round like the Pitt guys. We don't know and it has no bearing on his draft position next year. You can't just throw out a blanket statement like if he was picked 18th this year he wouldn't be picked until the 2nd round next year.

Of course, we all know this draft was weak. We've known it for some time. I read your statement very carefully and don't agree that it's necessarily true.
